The Forks of the Wabash Pioneer Festival, a celebration of Hoosier life in the mid-1800s to the 1960s, will take place Saturday, September 27 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, September 28 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Huntington County Fairgrounds, 631 E. Taylor Street. An old-time worship service will take place Sunday at 9 a.m.
The festival was founded in 1976 by Jean Gernand and was held at Huntington North High School for one day. In 1979 the festival was moved to its current location, and a second day was added in 1982.
