Job Description
The Huntington University Department of Nursing invites applicants for a tenure-track position for Program Director to provide leadership with the development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous quality improvement of the Nursing educational program, beginning Fall 2019. The successful candidate will provide instruction in the classroom as well as ensure compliance with accreditation standards and administer the Program.
The Director of Nursing is an experienced nurse educator who holds or is eligible to hold an unencumbered license in the State of Indiana. Master’s degree in nursing, with a doctorate in nursing or related field, required. Doctoral candidates who are ABD (all but dissertation) will be considered.  Candidates must complete the doctoral degree by the time of tenure review.
Experience in clinical nursing, nursing education, and administration is required, with at least three years of documented successful teaching experience, preferable in a baccalaureate degree program. The Director of Nursing shall function as the chief administrative officer for the Department of Nursing. The Director must possess the following skills and attributes:  strong skills in instructional methods; performance-based curriculum design and research; strong interpersonal and communication skills; skills in initiating and managing change; strong management and leadership skills, including planning, organizing, leading and controlling; and ongoing involvement with relevant local, regional and national professional organizations.
