Job Description

Our Sunday Visitor actively seeking a talented Technical Product Owner to recommend strategic and tactical initiatives for Our Sunday Visitor’s software products. The Technical Product Owner will collaborate with Product Management on the product strategy, creating a roadmap while managing the product backlog and crafting user stories. This integral role will work closely with Product Management, reviewing the market and blending market data findings with web analytics, enhancing well-informed product decision outcomes that will guide strategy, while seeking forward-thinking trends and best practice initiatives.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Collaborate with Product Management to create and maintain the vision for Our Sunday Visitor’s software products in order to assist with communication to key stakeholders
  • Translate the product vision into a dynamic roadmap and create themes to convey a story and represent value as to why we are building the product
  • Work with Product Management and the UX Team to develop user personas that will feed into a tailored user experience.
  • Define epics and break them down into user stories with clearly defined acceptance criteria
  • Refine and prioritize the product backlog
  • Be readily available to answer questions raised by the software development team to ensure validity of end product
  • Identify key deliverables for each release and communicate them to key stakeholders
  • Create feedback channels for users
  • Collect, synthesize, and take appropriate action on user feedback
  • Capture and review meaningful analytics to inform decisions
  • Collaborate with Product Management to create a financial forecast and track product performance
  • Collaborate with UX team, key stakeholders, and development to establish goals and timeline

*   Performs other duties as required or assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities:  

  • The Technical Product Manager will, at times, assist directing the work and collaborate with special project groups.
  • This position will not be responsible for selection of personnel, performance appraisals, and such actions as merit increases, promotions, reassignments of employees, or terminations

*Work within an office environment requiring occasional travel to training sessions or offsite for collaborations

Required Experience
  • 7+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or related role
  • 3+ years of experience in an Agile environment
  • Solid understand of the product lifecycle
  • Proven project management expertise of large-scale projects

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, marketing, statistics, mathematics, economics, or other related quantitative discipline.
  • Master’s degree a plus.
  • Pragmatic Marketing or Product Ownership certification preferred
